10pm at the barn just got a whole lot sweeter 🥰 10pm at the barn just got a whole lot sweeter 🥰

We’re working on adjusting our bottle feeding schedule just right, and this little guy is making it oh so easy! Eating like a champ and plenty of the cutest tail wags there ever was 😍

We are so blessed to have been able to add this @gtbfarm buckling to our herd!! He made the 3.5 hour drive home yesterday a breeze, and he gets more charming by the minute.

We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this handsome fella!
Thank you Garret @gtbfarm for raising some amazing ADGA Nigerian Dwarfs!

A handful of excitement looking forward to Spring A handful of excitement looking forward to Spring 🌱

As I take a lunch break from fence building, I pause to reflect on the fact that we have so many exciting things to look forward to in the coming months!

Our sweet Nigerian Dwarf, Muffin, will have her first babies, we will start our first full fledge breeding season with our amazing new Nigerian Dwarf buck, I have high hopes for a productive garden, we’ll be making some serious improvements to our goat barn and chicken yard, and of coarse we’ll be adding to our laying hen flock!!

Who knows what else we’ll get into! I do know one thing is for sure, I am unable to even begin to explain how extremely blessed we are!

To have the opportunity to build this life with the Good Lord’s guidance, and live it to its absolute fullest in our purpose!

May we truly LIVE this blessed life, in His glory!!!

I will always be in love with mornings, before the I will always be in love with mornings, before the sun takes the dew for the day.
When the world is waking and the day is new.

One of my favorite things to do as I walk across the damp, grassy hills in the morning light are to watch for tiny spiderwebs glistening in the peeping sunlight.
Another moment that fills my heart is looking back at the path made by my footsteps through the dew.

To be able to see and feel the tangible newness of the day that is proven by my footsteps being the only path made through that dew yet.
And making sure to step over the sparkly spiderwebs, to save that newness a little longer.
Oh, how I love these peaceful mornings.

Thank you Lord for your continued blessings and the promise of beautiful forgiveness.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
-Lamentations 3:22-23

Sometimes, surprises in our lives seem to appear a Sometimes, surprises in our lives seem to appear at first different than their true purpose.
At first, they may seem inconvenient, stressful, or worrisome.

But then something incredible happens...once we allow ourselves to open up to possibilities within these surprises, we are blessed with the privilege to experience their true purpose and meaning.

Now, per my usual, let’s use my chickens as an example. Because so many life lessons are well pondered while sitting with your chickens❤️

Take our little Pipa here. She was a surprise to us, in a white egg layer mix I received from my most recent hatchery order.
I’ve never had a Polish hen before, and she seems to be quite the high maintenance little lady and not much fond of human interaction, despite my best efforts.

As it turns out, after I finally opened up to the possibility of Pipa’s place on our farm, she has been the absolute best companion for our very sweet older hen who is unable to be a member of our regular flock without getting nearly bullied to death because she is unable to walk well.

You see, without crazy little surprise Pipa, our old gal (whose name is “Best Friend”....courtesy of my boys) would not at all have had the chance to thrive as she has since we introduced her to Pipa, her new best friend.

Admittedly, I had considered rehoming Pipa...because, at first, she was a surprise inconvenience, and didn’t even posses a desirable personality as far as a pet chicken goes.
Well, as you probably gather, I’m so glad we were surprised with this crazy little high maintenance prissy pants. She’s quite the comic and adds to the already unique dynamic of our little farmstead just perfectly ❤️

So, with that said, if you’re faced with something unexpected in your life, do your best to be patient...and may you have the opportunity to see why it’s so worth it.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
-Romans 8:28-

A full day of picking up limbs and heavy duty barn A full day of picking up limbs and heavy duty barn and coop cleaning had these two tuckered out.
Well, maybe Muffin a little more so than Grady haha!
We have high hopes that sweet Muffin’s sleepies are due to something much cuter that a day full a farm chores.
We will find out for sure, in a little less than three weeks, if our Muffin is going to be a mom for the first time!!
If so, we will be expecting her first kid(s) mid to late February, eeeeekk!!!!
